We live down the road from Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most popular and beautiful National Parks in the US. This park is home to amazing mountain trails, cascading waterfalls, and the highest continuous paved road in America.

After one of our reading lessons, about school field trips nonetheless, I was reminded that Colin has never been to RMNP. I asked the rest of the army if they remembered going, as they certainly did many moons ago, but I drew only puzzled stares. We’ll need to fix that.

So, last Friday, we took a mandatory field trip to the mountains. While oxygen is certainly low at 12,000+ feet, there was no shortage of smiles. It was an easy reminder to take a break now and then to simply enjoy the outdoors. It rarely disappoints.
